Educational Classes for Children

Garden Explorers is an outdoor, educational adventure where students engage with nature through science. This 2-hour program is geared towards 1st-6th graders and includes a craft and garden snack. Most Garden Explorers classes align with Girl Scout badges and are open to all learners.

Cost: $20 per student with a 50% discount for National City residents

We’ve gone virtual! Garden Explorers will now be offered virtually for 1 hour. Our educators will also curate an optional kit for purchase that includes materials needed for each session. Registration only is $5. Registration + materials kit is $15 for pick up at Olivewood Gardens.

Garden Explorers will:

  • Learn how to design their dream garden and experiment with seeds for their own garden
  • Try a fresh-picked garden snack
  • Completes requirements for Girl Scout Gardeners badge

  • Petal Power
  • Touch, Taste, Smell, See, Hear

Have some garden fun in our live, in-person Garden Explorers: How Does Your Garden Grow! Join us on Saturday, June 26th from 10-noon for an adventure to learn about plants, how to design a garden, plant seeds, and explore Olivewood Gardens for growing inspiration! 

Garden Explorers is for all youth grades 1st-6th. Girl Scouts who attend will earn the gardeners badge (not included).
